Abstract
Although pronunciation is part of the curriculum in education programs, it is not referred to systematically and is often neglected. Many teachers are comfortable
with reading, writing, listening and, to a degree, general oral skills, but when it comes to pronunciation they find it difficult to teach. The aim of this paper is to present an overview of the traditional and time tested techniques as well as the new directions in pronunciation teaching.
