The article deals with the analysis of the role and main features of brainstorming in the process of students’ mental activity enhancement. The content of the method of brainstorming, its types are considered. The author highlights advantages and disadvantages of brainstorming, emphasizes conditions of its realization. The author also presents main stages of this method implementation, provides specifications for each of them. Perspectives of further work in this direction are outlined
