Abstract
The author described the strategies of formative assessment, presented an analysis of the methods and instruments offormative assessment, the features offormative assessment in comparison with traditional assessment, and described the use of instruments of formative assessment at the Math lessons at primary school. Formative assessment excludes comparing pupils with each other, and focuses on personal progress of each pupil. Skillful use of the instruments of the formative assessment at the Math lessons in primary school will let teacher help his pupils to identify the gaps in their knowledge and concentrate on how to achieve better results in school.
