Abstract

In the professional activity of a geography teacher there is always room for research, for pedagogical creativity, and not at the level of traditional methods, but at the next level - technological. The development of technology as an integral part of the subject's methodology provides for a guaranteed pedagogical result of the teacher's work. And this result is revealed by students when assessing the quality of their training in this subject. The modern Ukrainian school needs a fundamentally new system of education, which, based on the best traditions, would take into account the individual characteristics of students. The article deals with modern pedagogical technologies used in teaching geography in secondary schools. The set of pedagogical technologies is quite extensive. In our study, we have grouped them into three main groups: explanatory and illustrative pedagogical teaching technologies, personality-oriented teaching technologies and developmental teaching technologies. Depending on the purpose of their use, technologies can perform different functions in the educational process and complement each other.
