Abstract

The questions of typology of characters in English magical-realistic and Ukrainian chimeric prose are revealed in the article. The characters are analysed according to their functions, foreground and background position, ways of creating, being a part of postcolonial literature. The similar and different feature in magical realism and chimeric prose are described.
