Резюме
Modern international tourism is a phenomenon, on the one hand, young, widespread, which took place only after World War II, on the other hand, it has deep historical roots, is a form of intercultural contacts and one of the effective means of mutual enrichment of cultures. International tourism as a type of service in the system of international tourist and economic relations is characterized by an increase in its impact on the economies of certain countries and macro-regions. The study considers the historical aspects of the development of international tourism in the tourist macro-regions of the world, identifies the main directions of tourist flows to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis of the development of international tourism from 1950 to 2019 shows that tourism activity in the world has a stable positive trend despite natural disasters, political problems, economic crises and dangerous outbreaks of various diseases and viruses that have spread around the world and problems.
